About

Our Ministry

Pass It On Kidsignment Sale is so much more than just Aiken’s favorite consignment sale. Through the sales of donated items and clothing (items with pink tags!), we are able to contribute money to First Baptist’s Parents’ Day Out program as well as to provide assistance to those in our community.

Our Pass It On family believes in sharing of our abundance with our community and beyond. It is for this reason we encourage our volunteers and consignors to give more.

Our Charity Team asks our volunteers to sponsor local children in need and volunteers spend their time and money purchasing clothing and toys to fill charity boxes for these special kids.  Each child receives a box full of gently used clothes, toys, and books as well as a new package of underwear and socks (also donated by our volunteers).

In typical consignment sales, consignors return to pick up items that haven’t sold. But Pass It On asks that consignors prayerfully consider allowing us to truly pass on items that haven’t sold on to people in need in our community. After we close our doors on Saturday at noon, we gather up all the clothing and items left and donate them to various organizations, churches, and missions.

Some of the groups we have helped in the past include:

  • ACTS (Area Churches Together Serving)

  • Aiken Department of Public Safety

  • Aiken Pregnancy Care Center

  • Aiken Regional Auxilary Club

  • Brothers & Sisters

  • Camp Share Again

  • Children’s Advocacy Center

  • Christ Central

  • Cumbee Center

  • First Baptist Church Library

  • Millbrook Church – Mexico Missions Project

  • Millbrook Church – Appalachian Mtns. Project

  • Mothers Helping Mothers

  • Salvation Army

  • Welcome Baby

  • …as well as other specific individuals in need.

Our Story

The first Pass It On Kidsignment Sale was in the spring of 1997: A handful of folks, including Vicki Smith and Connie Kinney, organized a sale to help clothe their kids on a budget and contribute money to First Baptist’s Parents’ Day Out program with a few extra dollars. There were nine racks and nine tables. Fast forward over twenty years and Pass It On Kidsignment Sale fills the gym at First Baptist Church to the brim and has hundreds of volunteers, consignors, shoppers, and donors. Beyond that, the sale’s mission is firmly rooted in sharing our abundance with people in need in Aiken through donations while supporting all families in Aiken by providing an opportunity to consign and buy gently used clothes and items for the whole family.

We would love to have you become part of Pass It On’s story! Join us by donating, volunteering, consigning, or shopping!

Our Leadership

Vicki Smith, a former member of First Baptist Church now residing in Georgia, and Connie Kinney, the founder of First Baptist’s Parents’ Day Out program, began Pass It On Kidsignment Sale all those years ago.  As the sale flourished and evolved, Jenny Fulmer, who was the Assistant Director of Parents’ Day Out, joined the leadership team.

Today, Vicki Smith serves as Pass It On’s Lead Chair with Jenny Fulmer serving as Co-Chair. Connie Kinney officially retired from her role with Pass It On in Fall 2018, but she remains a resource and supporter of the sale!
